1933 Began his career in photography at Togo Camera

1949 Invited to exhibit in the group show 'Gaikoku Salon' by Takakuwa Katsuo  
1951 Invited to exhibit in U.K., Paris, London and Chicago  
1953 Won several photography prizes in Japan, elected to Taiheiyo Art Association  
1957 Was elected to Nika Photographers Guild  
1959 Appointed advisor to the Kyoto Cultural Bureau  
  1965 Was elected a distinguished member of the Nika Photographers Guild
  1988 Received an order of merit for distinguished service to culture from Kyoto pref
  1989 Received an order of merit for distinguished service to culture from Kyoto city
  1991 Award for distinguished service from the Photography Society of Japan
