DMITRI BALTERMANTS
 
 

In 1939 Dmitri Baltermants (1912-1990, Poland) was called upon by the Russian newspaper, Izvestia, to document the Soviet occupation of eastern Poland. Throughout World War II, he also worked for the Red Army newspaper, Na Rzgromvraga and after the war, until his death in 1990, Baltermants worked as Staff Photographer, Photo Editor and Editorial Board Member for the publication Ogonyok.
